Heart was one of my first successful fine art nude images. It was driven by my vision of creating a heart shape from the female form. Accomplishing this goal required the model to assume a very bent pose so that her torso was hidden from view while crossing her ankles to create the tapered heart shape – a very awkward and precarious position.
As with all of my images light and shadow are very important. While some light is needed to illuminate the subject it’s really the shadows the define the subject and bring the image to life. I also love the way shadows help to obscure much of the subject and leaves the viewer’s mind to imagine the missing details. Nothing is as beautiful as the beauty you imagine.
